About SEGwifi
Commercial Wi-Fi is the whole business. We survey it, design it, install it and prove it works — and we don't do anything else.
What we are
SEGwifi surveys, designs, installs and supports commercial wireless networks. Offices, warehouses, schools, hotels, care settings, managed property, marinas, venues and retail — across the UK.
That is the entire list. We don't sell home broadband, we don't do general IT support, and we don't treat a Wi-Fi survey as a way of getting through the door to sell something else. When wireless is the only thing you do, you get better at it than firms for whom it is one line on a services page.
Why we install our own designs
The Wi-Fi market splits into two halves and neither is complete. There are specialists who survey and design well, and then hand the physical work to whoever the client can find. And there are firms who can install at scale but treat a survey as a lead-generation exercise — several of the largest have no Wi-Fi survey page at all.
Every project gets passed between those halves, and the hand-off is where it slips. The access points get specified, and then nobody owns the containment route, the power at high level, the access equipment or the working-at-height method statement. Dates move, scope gets argued over, and the coverage that was promised arrives late or not at all.
We do both halves. The survey, the design, the containment, the cabling, the mounting, the commissioning and the validation survey that proves it — our people, one programme, one number to ring. It also means we can offer a coverage guarantee that is measured rather than asserted, because we control everything that determines whether it is met.
How we work
Six things that shape every job, and that we'd want you to hold us to.
- Measure before you specify. No design leaves here without survey data behind it. If we can't measure it, we model it and say so.
- Vendor-independent. We specify what the building needs. If your existing platform can do the job, the report will say so.
- Say when the answer is "no survey needed". Some problems are configuration, some are the uplink, and some aren't Wi-Fi at all. We'd rather tell you than sell you.
- Write reports people can use. Plain English at the front, enough detail behind it for an installer to build from.
- Prove it afterwards. Validation survey on completion, evidence handed over.
- No claims we can't evidence. Including this page.

Accreditations, honestly stated
The accreditations shown above — CHAS, Constructionline Gold, SafeContractor, TrustMark and NICEIC — are held by The Specialist Electrical Group Ltd, and are available to SEGwifi projects. They matter because they are what a main contractor, a facilities team or a procurement department will ask for, and they are approvals most Wi-Fi companies simply don't carry.
We do not claim Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001. Several firms in this market hold them and say so. We don't hold them, so we don't say so. If either becomes relevant to work you're considering, ask us and we'll tell you exactly where we stand.
Part of the group
SEGwifi is part of The Specialist Electrical Group. In practice that means two things for your project: a broader range of engineers and installers available when a programme needs more hands on site, and the group's accreditation and insurance behind the work. It does not mean Wi-Fi is a sideline — it is the only thing this company does.
Where we work
Commercial sites across the United Kingdom. Our base is in Hertfordshire, and a good deal of our work is in London and the South East, but we survey and install nationally and we would rather tell you honestly whether a site is practical for us than pretend distance doesn't exist.
Our engineers
Nobody else in this market names their surveyors or publishes their certifications, which is a strange gap in an industry that sells expertise. We think it should be visible.
